Made-to-Measure Suits, Exclusively Yours
In Melbourne, style is an expression of one's unique character. For professionals and the fashion-conscious alike, a well-tailored suit enhances your confidence while showcasing your personal style. At Germaine Joseph, our tailors guide you in designing made-to-measure suits for men and women, in the finest, luxurious fabrics from world-renowned Italian mills. Why settle for standard-sized, off-the-rack suits, when you can have a Germaine Joseph suit exclusively tailored for you?
Purchasing a made-to-measure suit is an investment in 110 years of generational expertise, passed down through tailors who passionately craft a suit with a genuinely perfect fit guaranteed. Every Germaine Joseph suit is meticulously crafted to your physique, ensuring it accentuates your body and enhances your style — whether you're refreshing your wardrobe, dressing for a business function, or getting married.
Made-to-Measure — The Fit Process
The Germaine Joseph Experience offers premium fabrics and meticulous tailoring to design suits that genuinely showcase your personal style. The process is simple.
Step 1
Meet Your Tailor
A Germaine Joseph tailor meets with you — in person or via video — to learn more about your needs. Express the details of the suit you have in mind, its purpose, colours of interest, and your budget. Your tailor guides you through every option that fits your needs. At the end of the consultation, a date and time is scheduled for your fitting.
Step 2
The Fitting Process
Your tailor visits you at home, office, or on location. Here, you select your fabric and every custom detail. Your tailor takes 4 essential measurements — chest, stomach, waist and hips — which determine your base pattern for fitting. Any alterations are lodged to fulfil your order. Standard production is 3 business weeks, plus courier time from Italy.
Step 3
Delivery & Reorder
Your suit arrives for your first fitting, assessed for drape and performance. Your tailor checks for any nuances needing adjustment. Suits should fit upon delivery, but if alterations are needed, they're completed free of charge. If the suit isn't fit for purpose, a new one is ordered to correct the error.

Precision, Built Into Every Detail
Our jackets allow for 23-point alterations, and our trousers for 10-point alterations — genuine precision, not guesswork. Every alteration is included in your completed garment, regardless of your specifications. If, for any unforeseen reason, a suit isn't fit for purpose, it will be remade — no exceptions.
Quality Craftsmanship, Premium Fabrics
Quality is our primary concern in delivering made-to-measure suits. Germaine Joseph has partnered with world-renowned Italian mills to offer the finest, most luxurious fabrics — crafting a suit that drapes comfortably and performs in every motion. We offer merino wool, Mongolian cashmere, silk blends, mohair, vicuña and other versatile blends, catering to all four seasons. Every suit is made with genuine care and a commitment to quality that continues to look impeccable.

Made-to-Measure Business Suits
Stop buying off the rack. A made-to-measure business suit is the foundation of a genuinely professional wardrobe — sharp, considered tailoring built for the boardroom, client meetings, and every working day between. We craft our business suits in premium Scabal fabrics — the same mill trusted by tailors across Europe for over a century — in navy Super 130s, charcoal mid-grey, chalk stripe and birdseye weaves that carry authority without shouting for attention.
- All-Day Comfort: Precision fitting engineered for long office days, back-to-back meetings and everything in between.
- Performance Fabrics: Breathable, high-twist Scabal wool built for durability and a genuinely crisp finish, wear after wear.
- Personal Branding: Customise lapels, buttons, monograms and exclusive linings — a business suit that's unmistakably yours.

Made-to-Measure Casual Suits
Not every occasion calls for a boardroom suit. Our made-to-measure casual suits are cut from Ariston fabrics — lightweight, textured Italian cloth built for genuine comfort without sacrificing style. Whether it's a relaxed weekend, a smart-casual dinner or a lifestyle that simply moves faster than a traditional suit allows, a casual made-to-measure suit gives you tailored precision that never feels stiff.
- Effortless Comfort: Lightweight Ariston wool and soft-construction jackets, built for all-day ease.
- Versatile Separates: Mix jacket and trouser fabrics for a genuinely personal smart-casual look.
- Mobile Fitting: Made-to-measure, fitted at your home — no showroom visit required.
